I love what I do, I have worked in some incredible environments for 10 years with people who value great design and solving big and interesting problems. I place my enthusiasm for learning a new skill above all else, which allows me to contribute the most to each organization I find myself in. I have won an multiple Addy Awards for my work in photography and been published in publications such as The Atlantic and the HuffPost. My photography has been viewed over 40 million times and been downloaded by a quarter of a million users via Unsplash.
Some work I'm pretty proud of.
I absolutely love what I do.
I have devoted my life to what I do, and I care about it. Design will never just be a career for me, it's a way of looking at the world and constantly striving to make it better. I have been intentional to align my interests and passions with my career.
Seriously, I am one lucky guy. I got to marry my wife Jaimi in June of 2010, on the beautiful Vashon Island in the Puget Sound off the coast of Seattle, Washington. In December of 2012, we met Lucy our daughter, who is strong, smart and kind.
I grew up near the cornfields of Illinois in the blue-collar town of Freeport. I was lucky to have great parents, teachers and mentors to encourage me in my strengths and interests.
I've lived in various parts of the country doing many things. I've traveled all over the globe, but I've always been drawn to Southern California, it has always felt like home to me. Maybe it's the fish tacos or the ocean air, but it's a place that I hope I never leave. I love exploring new restaurants or hiking in the desert mountains.
My wife and I live in our beach house in Imperial Beach, California where we love to take walks on the pier, watch Lucy play in the waves and someday soon, I'm going to buy a surfboard and learn to surf. I am a professional portrait and event photographer as well, you can find my work at patrickforephotography.com. I have been taking photos for over 5 years now and consider it a large part of what I do.
